Description

Learning Outcome: 

Successful completion of the course will see students gain a proficiency in comprehension, grammar and writing skills. They will be aided with a number of study materials, including the use of worksheets, power point presentations and timely homework. 

Students can expect to learn the “skimming/scanning” method to extract important information from passages. Students can expect to acquire a clear understanding of inferential, factual and sequential questions, alongside vocabulary in context, to better prepare them at passage analysis. Additionally, students will not only be taught the rules of grammar (from basic to advanced), but also be expected to gain a degree of expertise through practice and testing. Alongside grammar and comprehension, students will be taught the basics of directed and creative writing. Starting with brainstorming, the aspects of character and story building will also be taught, to help students develop their writing skills.
