Silverine de Silva did her under graduation on Advanced Diploma in Journalism from International Institute for Journalism, Berlin. She did double masters, Masters of Arts in Journalism from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and she did Masters of Arts in Philosophy from Canbourne University, UK.
Currently, she’s the Chief Coordinator cum Academic Director at Unique Group. De Silva was visiting tutor at corporate offices and AIUB, Bangladesh. She was also Assistant Director, office of student affairs and Assistant professor at the department of English at AIUB. At University of Information Technology & Sciences she was the head of department of English.
She also taught in several schools. She was the principal at Silverstar School and also taught English Language and English Literature to O & A Level students. She is the founder Principal of Mastermind School. Senior section teacher at Scholastica (1995-96).
De Silva was in charge of running the administration of the Director General’s office and monitoring projects handled by the Engineering Department especially in building the Mahaweli Dam, Sri Lanka as the Personal Assistant to the Director General.
De Silva used to teach Business Communication Techniques to Staff in co-operate offices such as Agility Bangladesh Ltd and Kuehne & Nagel.
De Silva also worked at Dhaka Tribune as Senior Sub-Editor (Graveyard shift). She was Copy Editor (part-time) at The Daily Star. She was the Sub-Editor (Copy-editor) and Secretary to the Chairman at The Ceylon Daily News (Associated newspapers of Ceylon Limited- ANCL).
De Silva started her own business “Accolades Plus Limited”, it is involved in consultancy and training staff in communication ethics and etiquette and those in the RMG field designing garments and producing them.
