Hasan Ameen Salahuddin has been teaching High school Physics and Mathematics since 2008. He has taught in Sir John Wilson School (Dhaka), Sunshine Grammar School (Chittagong) and American Standard International School (Dhaka) over the past 12 years and was the Senior Section Coordinator (O and A Levels) in his last job.

He has always been fascinated with how things operated from a very early age. He started finding answers to his questions while studying Physics in High school, and it has been his passion to learn and teach the subject ever since. Besides, he also teaches Mathematics. He has been teaching both the subjects in combination so that his students are better equipped in dealing with and understanding the subject matter better.

“You know this profession is rewarding when students from a decade back search you up on their own to just talk to you and share their stories of successes. The heart swells up with pride even more when they end up thanking you for being their teacher. I don’t think there is anything more worthwhile than that”, says Hasan. His proudest moment was when two of his students achieved regional highest scores in A Level Physics, from Sunshine Grammar School, in consecutive years.

He is an amateur carpenter, hobbyist and writer in his spare time. He has published a few of his poems and short stories along with many translations of short stories — by renowned writers in the country — in The Daily Star.
