Dr. Ajit Thomas is an IT industry veteran with 30 years of industry experience and an established track record in Business Intelligence and IT project management.  Dr. Thomas earned a Ph.D. in Information Systems with a thesis focused on Business Intelligence / Analytics.  He has been teaching courses since 2004 at Carleton University in the area of Information Systems.  Areas of specialty include Databases and Structures, Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), IT Infrastructure & Networking, Digital Business and Emerging IT trends.  He is very experienced in the areas of information system design and development.  Dr. Thomas currently serves as Chief Technology Officer of a leading digital marketing organization and has played a key role in numerous IT projects using System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and AGILE methods for clients within Government, Medical, Defense, Entertainment, Education and Consulting sectors.  Expert level knowledge in the areas of Business Intelligence, Data Analysis and Project Management.  Major projects worked on to date include the creation of a portfolio management system that is used by a Canadian government department to manage over $1.7B in application development projects.  Other notable projects include the development of a global media portal for a major media company and a Radar Part Task Trainer (RPTT) navigation training system for the Canadian Armed Forces.
